My 23 Favorite Wordpress Plugins

I decided to put this list together of wordpress plugins because I wanted to share with everyone what plugins I was using to get this look on my website. Don’t be alarmed, a lot of this list is admin control. Please take a look at them, if you like what you see, just click on the name and it will take you to the plugins website for download.

  1. Akismet

  2. Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not and lets you review the spam it catches under your blog’s “Comments” admin screen.

  3. All in One SEO Pack

  4. Want your name on top of google? This is one of the great ways to do it. Each page can have it’s own title, tags, and keywords.

  5. Articles

  6. The articles plugin allows you to display a list of posts you wish to feature/highlight. See it in action.

  7. Better Comments Manager

  8. Better comments manager is a plugin which allows you to reply to comment from within the admin panel.

  9. BM Custom Login

  10. A simple way to customise the login screen on your wordpress install.

    This is great to keep the design aspect of your blog the same when you have your users log in.

  11. cforms II

  12. cforms II is the most powerful contact form plugin out there. See it in action.

  13. Chunk URLs

  14. Chunk URLs transforms long URLs into shorter ones.

  15. Exec-PHP

  16. The Exec-PHP plugin executes PHP code in posts, pages and text widgets.
    This is very useful if you do not want to add any php into your premade header/footer/home (etc).php!!!

  17. FeedBurner FeedSmith

  18. When using Wordpress there are a number of ways a user can request your RSS feed by clicking on different links. The Feedsmith plugin handles these requests to ensure the visitor is directed to your Feedburner RSS URL.

  19. Google XML Sitemaps

  20. This plugin will create a Google sitemaps compliant XML-Sitemap of your WordPress blog. It also notifies Google, Yahoo, and a few other search engines of changes to your site. Just another great SEO tool.

  21. My Category Order

  22. My Category Order allows you to set the order in which categories will appear in the sidebar.

  24. My Page Order allows you to set the order of pages through a drag and drop interface.

  25. NextGEN Gallery

  26. This is a great plugin for a website that is featuring images. It creates the thumbnail for you, all you need to do is upload all your pictures. See it in action.

  27. Ozh’ Admin Drop Down Menu

  28. Ozh’ Admin Drop Down Menu is a great plugin for your admin panel. Instead of clicking so many times all you need to do is put your mouse over the main heading and a drop down appears.

  29. Post Layout

  30. Add HTML, JavaScript or PHP code before, after or in the middle of a post without modify the theme.

  31. SRG Clean Archives

  32. This plugin is designed to display your archive listings in a clean and uniform fashion that’s Search Engine friendly on a dedicated page or in your sidebar. See it in action.

  33. Twitter Updater

  34. Updates Twitter when you create a new blog or publish one.

  35. WordPress.com Stats

  36. The best plugin to collect stats. Just get an API key (Its free) and once it’s running it’ll begin collecting information about your pageviews, which posts and pages are the most popular, where your traffic is coming from, and what people click on when they leave.

  37. Wordpress Automatic Upgrade

  38. Wordpress Automatic Upgrade allows a user to automatically upgrade the wordpress installation to the latest one provided by wordpress.org using the 5 steps provided in the wordpress upgrade instructions.

  39. WP-DB-Backup

  40. WP-DB-Backup allows you easily to backup your core WordPress database tables. You may also backup other tables in the same database.

  44. Great plugin for creating polls on your blog.

  45. WP-Print

  46. This inserts a ‘Print’ tag at the bottom of your posts for users to print the post. It is customizable as well
     

There are so many more wordpress plugins to to download to your own website. Depending on the way you want to run your blog, will depend on the other plugins you get. This is just a list of the current ones I am using right now that are helpful to me.
