In this tutorial, you will learn how I made the mg at the top of my website. I would like to name this tutorial, gel style text.

    Step One

Lets begin by opening up our photoshop program. I have used cs2, cs3, and cs4 to make this. The size of my work area is a 300w x 180h (pixels) with 100 DPI. The font name I will use is Eras Bold ITC at 150pt. The background I used was white. Of course you can choose whatever you would like.Start off by creating an m in a new layer.

    Step Two

The color of the m is 7ba775. Use your horizontal type tool. You should have something like looks like this:

Next, right click on the ‘m’ layer you just created and click on blending options.

Then, click on drop shadow and use the following setting:

After that, click on bevel and emboss and use the following setting:

Once you are done with that, click on stroke and use the following setting:

Here is the final result for the m:

    Step Three

To do the g, create a new layer and select your horizontal type tool. Click inside you work area and type a g. I used the same settings as above but I changed the color of the g to 0a85c2. From there, I went ahead and used the same color I used for the m, 7ba775, for the stroke around the g.
    Here is the final result:

Your choices are endless. You can add more gel by taking out your paintbrush. You can also add a lot more colors that way as well. Play around with it, use different colors, fonts, sizes, words, etc. The only thing you should keep in mind is this will only work with big/bold letter. Do not use script or thin letters.
    Have fun.
